James Kelliher – BBS, ACA, Dip. In Insolvency
James graduated from the University of Limerick in 2003 with an honors degree in Accounting & Finance. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2006 while training with O’Donovan Caulfield Lavin in Limerick. In September 2007, James joined the audit team of KPMG Dublin and was promoted to Manager in 2008. During this time he was responsible for a portfolio of clients in the manufacturing, renewable energy, waste management, media, retail and service industries. These clients included family owned businesses to some well-known publically quoted companies.
He was awarded a Diploma in Insolvency by Chartered Accountants Ireland in March 2011 and holds an Insolvency Practicing Certificate allowing him to accept insolvency appointments in the Republic of Ireland. In May 2011, James returned to Kerry and has worked in the Castleisland office of OCKT where he has primarily been involved in the audit, insolvency and advisory side of the practice.
James has an in-depth knowledge of current auditing and accounting issues and offers a practical and commercial perspective when advising clients. He heads the insolvency department where he has advised clients and financial institutions on particular issues specific to them. He has experience in a wide range of insolvency matters and has accepted insolvency appointments. He is also actively involved in advising clients’ in relation to fundraising (such as EIIS – formerly BES, investor finance and bank finance). He has undertaken due diligence reviews on behalf of clients and advised them in respect of specific transactions (target acquisitions).

Tom O’Shea – BBS, ACA
A graduate of the University of Limerick, Tom obtained a BBS (Honours) degree majoring in Accounting and Finance in 2001. He joined O’Connor Kelliher & Treacy and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2004. Since then he has managed a wide ranging portfolio of clients specialising in the delivery of services to Corporates, SME’s and business start-ups.
Tom has advised clients from diverse business sectors with a core expertise in the provision of audit and accounting services. He has also been the lead advisor in a broad range of business management and corporate restructuring projects and working with his clients has been instrumental in taking many such projects and assignments from their conception to their successful conclusion. Tom also has a proven record in securing grant funding for his clients focusing on assisting them with all aspects of the grant process to include the initial application, preparation of projections, business plans and auditing of grant claims.
He has significant transaction experience and has carried out a wide range of corporate finance arrangements including sale and purchase of businesses, company valuations, due diligence assignments, strategic review and internal audit. He has also proved particularly effective in the provision of taxation services dealing with such issues as estate and succession planning, Revenue audits and VAT issues.
A highly effective accountant Tom believes in dealing with client’s needs promptly and efficiently, delivering effective results is of paramount importance. He believes that this can only be delivered by adopting a hands on approach at all times partnering with his clients to achieve their goals which assists in the success of their business.
